Saying Goodbye to Standardization: Flexible Manufacturing Calls for a New Species That "Understand Factories"

Over the past two decades, industrial robots and automated production lines have greatly improved the efficiency of standardized production in manufacturing. However, as market demand shifts towards multi-variety, small-batch production, industries such as automotive and 3C face severe challenges in flexible manufacturing.
